Complete Menopause Support from Education to Support Groups
The background.
Dealing with the menopause is hard – workplaces and staff members are typically not aware of the impact the menopause can have on their colleagues or themselves. Recognising symptoms early, or at all, can save staff taking time off, or staff feeling unsupported or in the worst case leaving your business. Our services are designed to support perimenopausal and menopausal women and their colleagues. The numbers and statistics are clear, mismanagement of menopause costs your business money, with the appropriate training and support this can be mitigated.
Women make up approximately 45% of the total workforce (ONS). Between 1994 and 2014, women aged over 50 accounted for almost 72% of the growth in women’s employment, a trend that is steadily increasing, resulting in more women than ever before transitioning through the menopause while working.
Why might you want to consider my services?

Educating all staff about menopause and providing staff with an opportunity to discuss their symptoms will help to create a workplace environment where menopause is no longer a taboo subject. This environment helps to take away the embarrassment and fear that can prevent women opening up and seeking support for their symptoms. Creating a positive and open environment between employee and employer benefits your organisation, it strengthens your corporate reputation and helps with recruitment and retention of talent.
Sessions we offer
-
This is designed to be offered to all staff.
Although only women go through menopause it can also affect men. All men will know someone going through menopause whether it be a partner, friend, relative, or colleague. They may want to increase their knowledge of what happens to women when they are going through perimenopause/menopause and with this increased understanding they are better placed to provide support.
The session covers what happens to womens hormones during perimenopause and menopause, and in turn the symptoms that this can cause. I discuss how these symptoms impact women in the workplace and how to support colleagues going through perimenopause/menopuause. I will give my top tips to getting the most out of a menopause appointment with a healthcare provider and discuss different treatment options.
This session typically lasts around 60 minutes, with a 30 minute PowerPoint presentation and 30 minutes for q&a. This session can be delivered in person or remotely.

The support sessions are where women can share their experiences of going through peri/ menopause, discuss symptoms they are experiencing and how this is impacting on their home & work life. Women who are going through the peri/menopause are best placed to provide support to each other.
The support session starts with a short presentation on a menopause topic chosen by those attending, followed by Q&As to allow the women attending to ask me any menopause related questions.
The feedback I have had from previous clients is these sessions gave menopausal women the confidence to seek advice from their doctors’ surgery at the appropriate time. In my role in general practice a lot of the women I see have been struggling with symptoms sometimes for years before seeking help. These sessions can reduce the time it takes for a woman to seek help for her symptoms. Intervention early in perimenopause may help to prevent women who are struggling with perimenopause symptoms either reducing their hours or leaving work.
