Menopause and Social Media: Why the Full Picture Matters

Social media posts don’t always show the full picture

My social media feeds contain a lot of menopause related content and sadly the majority of what I read is often the negative side of what women are experiencing. There is no doubt that for some women the symptoms they experience going through perimenopause and menopause has a terrible impact on their life both at home and at work.

However we have to remember that there are many women who transition through perimenopause into menopause with minimal effects on their everyday life and I think it’s important that young women know this so that they do not live in fear of what’s ahead.

I speak to many women who have embraced and celebrated their transition to becoming a post menopausal woman. Enjoying the fact that periods were behind them feeling empowered and ready to embrace the next phase of their life with vigor and zest.
